Shearing Surprise

This year’s shearing was much like most years. Everybody came into the  barn.

They got shorn.

The end.

However, we did have a few surprises this year. Mostly from Emily. Here you can see her Medium Fawn color.

But when she was shorn, her fleece didn’t look like her at all.

Turns out Emily’s fleece transitions from Medium Fawn to Medium Brown.

Here’s Emily with her uncovered color. We almost don’t recognize her!

Wonder what she thinks about her new look?

China is off to camp

Our male, SLT China Star, is off to summer camp!

China is going to be standing at stud at Flying M Ranch in Sylvia, KS. In addition to providing breeding services for Flying M Ranch females, he will be available for outside breedings. He’s sure to meet many new friends, and we hope he sends us a postcard at least!

Be sure to check out Michael and Janis Murphy’s alpaca breeding program.

Enjoy your vacation, China! Be nice to Michael and Janis, and we’ll see you in a few months.
